Title : CORRUPTION AMERICAN STYLE
Subject : USA

George Bush's recent victory in the elections was attributed by many to the conservative turn of the American society - as well as to the mass turnout of the religious fanatics at the polls. Some characterized the Americans as "uncivilized" or people with "low-IQ". But do the American voters actually know what is really going on in their country and in the rest of the world? Did they have the information they needed in order to vote? Research results show that the majority of those who voted for Bush still believe that Iraq possesses weapons of mass destruction and that Saddam Hussein had ties with Al Qaeda. They still think that the war is going well and that Iraq is making progress. Because that is what they see on the news.

"In the US, people believe they are well-informed by the hundreds of Tv-channels and newspapers", replies Media professor Mark Crispin Miller. "In reality, they have the information that people got in the 12th century". On the occasion of George Bush's inauguration for his second term in the white house, Reportage Without Frontiers reveals the corruption network in the USA. In order to find the “political money” needed for a pre-election campaign and the advertisements, politicians give major companies lots in exchange: revealing videos filmed in the White House show how the American president promises to pass the laws his financiers wish for, despite the objections of his secretary of environment.

The huge financial interests that control the media prefer to close deals with the government than to inform the public: secret documents from the everyday guidelines given by TV-channels to news editors expose how the public’s disinformation is planned. One of the three major networks is controlled by a company that manufactures military weaponry, and therefore gains from promoting the war. And the apotheosis of corruption: the companies that planned this war, like vice-president Dick Cheney's Halliburton, benefit from contracts for the reconstruction of Iraq. Son-Bush commands the war and his father, former president of the United States, gains money from an armament company where he now works as a consultant...

But that is only half the truth...
