Title : FROM HEROIN TO ECSTASY...
Subject : DRUGS

In a Zurich park right next to Banhoff Strasse, the most expensive street in the world, thousands of heroin addicts lived and died. In the mid 90's, the Swiss government conducted an unprecedented experiment: it began giving heroin to users in public clinics across the country. In regard with the special report on drugs, Reportage Without Frontiers traveled to Switzerland and talked with experts, government officials and police officers about the results of this experiment: criminality has radically been diminished, the users' health and living conditions have been improved, and a significant number of them has succeeded with rehabilitation.

On the other side of the Atlantic, the US government has been launching a fierce war against drugs over the past three decades. Half of the two million people who are in US prisons, have been convicted for drug – either "hard" or "soft" drugs – related crimes.  At the same time in Holland, at the infamous coffee shops, selling and using marijuana has been decriminalized. Which of the two formulas does Greece follow and what is the best and most effective method in order to face the problem? The program provides some very interesting answers...
