Title : 3 YEARS AFTER IRAQ, IRAN?
Subject : IRAQ - AFGHANISTAN

Is an attack on Iran possible, when chaos exists in Iraq? In May 2003, at the time when the US president proclaimed the end of the war in Iraq, officials at the Pentagon started planning a new military operation. Its code name was "TIRANT" and its goal was Iran. In the three years that have gone by since then, preparations have been made, and, according to some experts who speak with Stelios Kouloglou, the operation has already begun with spy-ops and inside-efforts to destabilize Iran.

Michael Meacher, a former Tony Blair minister, believes that the target is the same: oil. William Clarke, an author and expert on oil-related issues, explains that Iran is making the same mistake that Saddam Hussein made, signing his death-sentence. For decades, the dollar has been the currency on which all oil-transactions have been based on. In 2000, the president of Iraq decided to replace the dollar with the euro. This was one of the main reasons that led up to the invasion: one of the first things that the Bush government did after US forces occupied Baghdad, was to re-establish the dollar as the iraqi oil-transaction currency...

The revealing documentary also presents the "Salvador Plan", the basic factor for religious violence in Iraq. To face the increasing influence of left rebels in El Salvador during the 80's, the USA encouraged the creation of death squads that terrorized and divided the population, causing a small-scale civil war. The Pentagon decided to implement the same plan in Iraq. In September 2005, Shiite pilgrims were gathering in Basra from different parts of Iraq in order to take place in a grand religious feast. The local police stopped a car with two passengers, dressed as Arabs, at a checkpoint. The trunk of the car was full of explosives. Only that the Arabs were in fact British agents...

The unsettled situation in Iraq and the fear that the price of oil could exceed 100 dollars per barrel, make attacking Iran a difficult case. But the Pentagon, under vice-president Dick Cheney’s orders, drafted a plan in case another attack occurs on US ground. The plan includes a broad military attack against Iran with conventional and nuclear weapons, regardless of whether Iran was involved in the terror attack or not...
