Title : THE UNKNOWN RESISTANCE AGAINST THE DICTATORSHIP - Part 3: Greece of Greek Christians
Subject : GREEK HISTORY

The king’s anti-coup and the murder attempt against Papadopoulos from Alekos Panagoulis has failed. The Colonels are emerging as ultimate dominators of the game and inspirers of the new national culture, as it is expressed in the Fests of War Virtue, which are flooding the Panathinaiko Stadium.

Mikis Theodorakis, whose songs are forbidden, is detained at the Bouboulinas Str. Detention centre. From his cell he can listen to the screaming of Andreas Lentakis, who is being interrogated on the rooftop. But the most horrible tortures, are suffered by military officers who try to react. Aggelos Pneumatikos narrates how he was buried alive from his own classmates from Evelpidon School.

Most of the resistance groups have been eradicated, however the opposition to the regime of the colonels continues to be expressed, even by small symbolic acts, such as the applause in bouats every time that the word freedom is being referred.

George Morakis, Panagoulis’ guard in Bogiati, is narrating how he helped Panagoulis to escape. Kitty Arseni will leave in secret for abroad, to testify about the tortures to the Council of Europe. The junta will send two false witnesses to assure the Europeans that the testimonies concerning tortures are false. However they will escape from their hotel and they will testify the truth.
