Title : THE RED SANDWICH
Subject : LATIN AMERICA

"All tragedies happen on the 11th of September, and on a Tuesday specifically", says famous Chilean author Louis Sepuldeva as he narrates the events of Chile's modern history's most tragic day: on September 11, 1973, general Pinochet's coup overthrew Salavdor Alliente's elected government, putting Chilean democracy on hold for many decades.

Based on the CIA and State Department's classified documents that were kept secert untill recently, as well as on testimonies by protagonists of that period, this documentary presents the systematic destabilisation of the Alliente government by the American secret services and the Nixon-Kissinger White House.
