This is the first episode of the series "Communism: The 20th Century Grandest Utopia", that received the Euro Comenius 2000 European award.
Some philosophers call the 20th century a short century, because, as they say, it started in 1917 with the October Revolution and ended in 1991 with the fall of the Soviet Union. Hundreds of thousands of people gave their lives for the communist ideas and, at the same time, in their name, human tragedies and incredible crimes took place.
The romantic years start with the October revolution in Russia and the founding, one year later, of the Greek Communist Party. The documentary features interviews with Basilis Nefeloudis, leader of the Greek Communist Part in the 20's and 30's, and Sergei Khrushchev, son of Nikita Khrushchev.
