In April of 1969, the Colonels organize the Youth Fest at the Panathinaiko Stadium, to celebrate the two years of the regime's governance, which eventuates into an impulsive and continuing booing of Papadopoulos from thousands of students. A new generation stands up against the dictatorship. Nikitas Lionarakis and Panagiotis Kanellakis are collecting, on behalf of EKIN, signatures in order to hold elections in the students' associations. The first student actuations are about to begin. 

 

In the Navy they are preparing for a long-time project for the occupation of Syros. Aleksandros Papadogonas comes in contact with Evagelos Averof and asks for Konstantinos Karamanlis' support. An article by Karamanlis in the newspaper "Vradini", in the April of 1973 will give the green light to the movement of the Navy. The movement was about to take place in the first hours of the 23rd of May. However, the project will be uncovered and the officers will be arrested. Nikos Pappas, governor of the warship "Velos" decides to withdraw from the exercise of NATO and head to Fiumicino city in Italy, asking for political asylum. "Velos" mutiny reverses the belief that the colonels are controlling the Military Forces.

 

Papadopoulos organizes a referendum, and appoints to Spiros Markezinis the formation of a government which will carry out elections in February, 1974. Ioannidis disagrees. Spiros Nikolaou, the legal adviser of George Papadopoulos, will approve a decree dismissing Brigadier Ioannidis, in October of 1973. However the decree will never be published in the Newspaper of Government. Dimitris Ioannidis will finally overthrow Papadopoulos on the 25th of November, just one week before the revolt of the Polytechneion.

 

After the failed murder attempt against Makarios, the first Turkish invasion in Cyprus takes place on the 20th of July. Spiros Nikolaou brings Faidon Gizikis in contact with Panagiotis Kanellopoulos. On the 23rd of July, Faidon Gizikis calls the political leaders in parliament. In the National Garden though a team of commandos awaits...
